in Rapa Nui. We propose 3 circuits from beginer to advanced level, we offer you the complete equipment so you decide
to do it by your own or with an instructor.

The submarine world of Easter Island is characterized by its unique great rock formations with cliffs, arches,
deep caves, lava platforms and shalloes, all covered with abundant coral studded with colorful tropical fish, all
this submerged in an infinite deep blue.
Its warm, transparent waters, and its geographic isolation, favour the existence of a unique fauna, principally made
up by corals, molluscs, crustaceans and fish, 25% of them endemic to the island. The average temperature of the water
is of 21°C in winter and 26°C in summer. You can dive all year long, depending on the marine conditions.

TOUR N1: RESTS
OF THE PAST
ACCES: from Apina Iti
DEPTH: 9 meters
VISIBILITY: over 30 meters
COMPLETE ROUTE: 500 meters
LEVEL: advanced
The bottom of the
Hanga Roa O’tai bay is described as a lava extension covered with algae and corals.
In this rocky and coral echo system we find native rock and coral fish endemic to Rapa Nui and also a typical extension of white coral
sand that gives the sea a blue green colour.
In this uncontamination
natural environment several subaquatic attractions considered as landmarks for this proposal outstand:
SHIPWRECK APOLLIN EMILIE: Steell
hull wreckage disseminated over a stretch of about 40 meters covered with algae and coral.
This submerged structure has become a refuge for several marine species that feed on the algae.
MOTU RAU MAHATU: A small
rocky mount that rises above sea level.
It is described as a lava formation associated to volcanic activity that originated the insular formation. This elevation called Motu in vernacular language is 4 meters deep and 1.5 meters above the surface, covered
with algae and corals offers refuge to different fish.
REEF: The boundaries of the
Hanga Roa bay reef are marked by an extension of white coral sand, making it easy to look around and as it is considered an
ideal place for diver beginners, it has a warning buoy permanently at sea.
Numerous coral species are seen, and the great quantities
of tropical fish that surround the divers, are principal features of this area. Some endemic fish found here are fly
Butterbly fish and the Lady fish.

TOUR N2: LAS TORTUGAS
ACCESS:
Pea Beach and Hanga Roa Cove
MAXIMUM
DEPTH: 2 meters
LEVEL:
easy access, suitable for all public
The surroundings
are described as flat bottomed, rocky with algae and sand, it is common to find sea turtles that swim near the shore during
high tide to feed on sea weeds and leftovers thrown by fisherman in Hanga Roa cove.

|

TOUR N3: OVAHE CORALS
ACCESS: from right side of Ovahe beach
MAXIMUM DEPTH: 8 meters
LEVEL: intermediate and advanced
COMPLETE ROUTE: 300 meters
The geographical
feature of this place is its horseshoe shape, wich gives a natural inside protection and also towards the reefs. An extension of exuberant coral life is predominant in this area, providing habitat to marine fauna. The water of Ovahe outstands for being the most transparent of the Rapa Nui coastline.
EL BAJO: A Rocky
islet submerged in the middle of the bay with a depth of 3 meters sourrinding it.
LAVA WALLS:
Decorated by sea life.
THE REFF:
A place that gives protection to fish and algae. Crossing it, there is a natural
pool with multi coloured fishes. Because of its extensive and abundant coral
life it is the most important and exceptional spot of the entire circuit.
